From the first booking to the last session: what you do, what your therapist does, where your notes go, and the rules about location, recording and privacy that apply to every session.
Sessions are individual, 50 minutes, by video or phone, for adults 18 and over who are in Ontario at the time of the session. If you need help now, call or text 9-8-8, or call 911.

You book through the Finding Focus portal under Therapy & ADHD coaching. You choose a therapist and a track, CBT or coaching, and pay for the session in advance. Follow-up sessions are booked with the same therapist. If your therapist ever becomes unavailable, Finding Focus tells you and offers an alternative, and you are always free to request a copy of your therapy record or to see someone outside Finding Focus.
Before the first session you complete an intake. Part of it may be recorded on video by you and transcribed to save you typing, and any documents you upload are summarized for your therapist, who always has the original as well. At intake you make one decision that matters: whether your therapist's notes are placed on your general chart, where your other Finding Focus clinicians can read them, or kept in the therapy record only. Either way, your therapist can read your existing chart, including assessment reports, screening measures and medication information.
Each session starts with you confirming where you physically are. Your therapist may only provide a session while you are in a province they are authorized to practise in and that Finding Focus has activated for them, which today means Ontario. If you are elsewhere, even temporarily, the session is rescheduled rather than held. Sessions are 50 minutes. They are not recorded unless you consent to recording that particular session; if you do, the audio and video are transcribed on Finding Focus equipment in Canada, a draft note is prepared for your therapist to review, and the recording is deleted once the draft exists. Nothing from a session is used to train AI systems. After some sessions your therapist may send a plain-language summary; it is a recap, not part of the record and not medical advice.
You pick a therapist at the first booking and follow-ups stay with them. If they become unavailable, you are told and offered an alternative rather than being reassigned silently.
At intake you choose whether therapy notes join your general chart or stay in the therapy record. Your therapist reads your existing chart in either case, so nothing needs repeating.
You can decline recording for any session with no effect on the session or its length. If you consent, the recording exists only long enough to draft a note that your therapist reviews.
Sign in to the portal, open Therapy & ADHD coaching, choose your track, therapist and time, and pay for that session. Nothing renews.
Answer the intake questions, upload anything useful, and choose whether therapy notes go on your general chart.
Before each session, confirm you are in Ontario. Join by video or phone at the booked time for 50 minutes.
Try the one thing you agreed to try. Book the next session when you are ready; weekly and fortnightly are common starting rhythms.

Yes. Sessions are offered by video or phone, and you can choose whichever suits the day. Both are 50 minutes and both require you to be in Ontario at the time.
If you are outside Ontario at the session time, even briefly, the session is rescheduled rather than held. Tell your therapist as soon as you know, and let them know if your location changes.
Yes. Finding Focus keeps the therapy record in its own systems and is responsible for responding to your requests for access and correction under applicable law and the Privacy Policy. Nothing stops you from requesting a copy or from seeing a provider outside Finding Focus.
